Russia leadersership (Vladimir Putin) wants Crimea to expand the the Russian empire. It seems in today's world it's much harder to expand than it was 100 years ago. It seems like the world is better educated and more prepared to defend their territory. Many years ago  when the European came to America it was so much easier to just take land.  The map of time chart on page 555 spans from 1453 to 1707.  This makes me wonder how greedy most people in the world are. I understand making a better life, do what you can to get ahead, but the conquering of another persons land seems wrong.  Ottoman conquest of Constantinople, Spanish conquest of ass tech empire want to go empire established in India,  Ottoman siege of Vienna, Spanish conquest of Inca Empire, Spanish takes over Philippines are just a few of the bullet statements. The great dying was caused by all the disease that the Europeans and Africans brought. 90% of these diseases we today have a vaccine to combat them like small pox, flu, and yellow fever.   It sounds pretty arrogant when Governor Bradford of Plymouth message or comment "good hand of God "at work "sweeping away great multitudes of the  natives that might make room for us "
I didn't know that Brazil was known for its gold or diamonds. I didn't know that sugar had such a great value. I Understand they use in foods, preservatives, and medicine.  Not many people in this world today does not like sugar. I'm sure that on a hot day I can bring in free cold sodas,  or on a cold day bring a bunch of hot Starbucks coffee with cream and sugar, that most students will partake.  Sugar today so common. It is also very affordable. Back in the 1700s it would take a lot of labor and effort to process sugar . The slaves worked in horrible conditions and then he died due to this hard labor. Slaves had to be imported often because the lifespan and some places are only about seven years.

Chapter 1 - First Farmer Humans were giving the guidance to subdue the earth.  In time some decided to explore, wonder and claim new land for ourselves. I like to wonder and discover new stuff.  It started off in the area of what we know as Africa and went to the Middle East.  Many years later we did pretty much cover the entire earth which was livable. Place like Antarctica have land but why too much cold to survive. Along the travel we found and learned so many things such as new plants to eat and animals to hunt. This brings us to the first human societies which were in the range of 25-50 people. We probably discovered that we are strong and more efficient working as a team than solo.  At the time men and women were equal. The men did most of the hunting and fishing while the women did most of the food gathering. March 29, 20th century crisis of Europe, website reading

 Fascism and the holocaust was harsh stuff in Germany.  Hitler took the role as leader and a hard one. It was not good to be Jewish at the time. Even if you were part Jewish,  you were penalized as being in this race and defaulted as Jewish. Hitler's Plan was to wipe out the Jewish people and people that were "different " such and the mentally challenged/ill, LGBT, handicapped, ect.
